It’s finally happened.
Yes, the first trailer for the upcoming ‘The Dark Tower’ movie, based off the Stephen King series of the same name, has been released and man does it deliver. We get our first look at Idris Elba’s portrayal of the last gunslinger, Ronald Deschain and Matthew McConaughhey as Walter, the man in black.
The modern age trailer’s usually flattering to deceive is something I have grown accustomed to lately (yes, I’m looking at you Suicide Squad!) and thankfully this does not seem to give too many details away. What we do get is some great scenes of Elba’s gunslinger in some potentially epic battle scenes, and what looks like yet another brilliant McConaughey performance as the unsettling man in black. We get an outline of the basic plot, our world and the mid-world are both reliant on the dark tower and our man in black is set out to destroy this,
We get a basic outline of the plot, in which there is two worlds, our world and the mysterious mid-earth, the dark tower protects both of these and it’s up to the gunslinger to protect it to save both worlds. We also meet newcomer Tom Taylor who plays Jake Chambers, the boy who winds up in mid-world to help Deschain protect the dark tower.
I’m excited guys, this looks like a fun epic fantasy filled movie. Let me know what you all think.
Oh and if you catch any of the subtle nods to King’s other work let me know, I won’t spoil it for anyone.
The teaser for the latest entry in the Child’s Play series, Cult of Chucky, surfaced yesterday. Fans of the killer doll will be pleased to know several people from across the series will all be included, with Jennifer Tilley, Fiona Dourif and Alex Vincent returning to play Tiffany, Nica Pierce, and Andy Barclay respectively.
With Entertainment Weekly revealing the story, which surrounds Nica who since the last movie ( Curse of Chucky) is in a mental asylum, still protesting her innocence that her family was murdered by Chucky and not herself. When murders begin to occur in the asylum that coincides with the introduction of a doctors new therapy tool, you guessed it, A Good Guy doll.
Andy Barclay, Chucky’s long-suffering rival races to help Nica, who in order to escape has to also deal with a certain dolls blushing bride, Tiffany.
With production beginning January 9th, we hope to see Cult of Chucky released sometime around Halloween.
As mentioned in my previous article regarding the upcoming movie Rings, the second trailer has dropped and showcases Samara haunting and hurting her victims. Made even creepier by the eerie, almost nursery rhymed narration.
We see Samara do her usual tricks such as making her victim cough up hair and crawl out of the TV screen. But also new things, including appearing out of nowhere to attack or make the skin peel from the palms of the hand.
The added modern twist also ensures that the story stays relevant, as even back when The Ring first came out, VCR was a little redundant so people scared about a cursed video cassette just felt a little meh. So with the trailer teasing the cursed video clip being sent through email freshens the story up quite a bit.
Released Feb 3rd
A poster with an ominous message for the upcoming new entry in the ‘Ring’ franchise dropped this week
Samara makes a terrifying return to our screens this February in the latest installment ‘Rings’ set 13 years after the events of ‘The Ring Two’. Starring
Starring Matilda Lutz and Alex Roe, Rings focuses on Julia and her boyfriend whom she is increasingly worried about due to his exploration into the urban legend of a movie that kills the viewer seven days after watching. Julia bravely sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend’s life and makes the startling and horrifying discovery that there is a second movie within the original.
A first trailer was released in late August, the second is expected to drop later this week.
For more news on ‘Rings’ and a trailer preview please return to SpineChillr, and please feel free to check out the first trailer below.
Okay, So I’ll admit I’d never heard of this movie up until about 20 minutes ago, purely down to my researching skills obviously but boy am I happy to have come across this.
Our leading lady Deanna Russo stars as Mary, who due to her husband’s job relocates her back to her suburban hometown. While in constant reminder of her youth she can’t help but shake the feeling that something is wrong here, a feeling confirmed by an eerie ice cream driver, complete with a nostalgic (bad-ass) truck with a penchant for murder on the side of his sundaes.
With an established cast including Jeff Daniel Phillips (Westworld, Flaked) and Lisa Ann Walter this certainly is one to watch when released in the Summer of 2017.
So please enjoy the teaser trailer for The Ice Cream Truck below or visit the movies official facebook page here.
Or should that be I Scream Truck? No.. Okay.
We all got an extra present on Christmas morning, waking up to find that 20th Century Fox released the first trailer for the upcoming Alien: Covenant, the sequel to 2012’s Prometheus, which brings itself into the Alien franchise’s lore.
With a scheduled release date of May 19th, 2017, this trailer deliver’s on so many levels. I personally wasn’t the biggest fan of Prometheus, so my excitement for this movie was borderline non-existent. I was wrong, and now this is easily one of, if not the most, anticipated film for me this year.
“The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.”
With nods to the original Alien movie and plenty of tense scenes including the first peek of the new Neomorph’s (around 1:33 in the trailer) as well as a great return to our screens for the Xenomorphs, this trailer does exactly what’s needed, and does it extremely well.
Michael Fassbender returns and is joined by a talented cast including Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir, and Danny McBride to name just a few.
2017 is shaping up nicely for horror fans with plenty of great movies planned for release, Alien: Covenant could be the pick of the bunch.
Okay, so I am pretty late to the party on this one but a new trailer has surfaced for Rob Zombies upcoming horror flick ‘31‘.Telling the tale of 5 carnival workers kidnapped and forced to take part in a deadly game called 31 a day before Halloween. Each person must survive playing 31 for 12 hours while being hunted by killer clowns (and if you may have seen my previous opinion piece on clowns and horror movies then it is no surprise that I am super stoked for this.)
This new trailer shows highlights of some brutal murders and close ups of our villains, who all look brilliantly insane and includes a peek at a murderer in a bunny rabbit outfit too (yep!)
This movie has been on my list for a long time and the new trailer shows it too be what I feel will be Zombie’s greatest movie to date, it looks fun, gory and some scares along the way.
Anyway, have a watch of the trailer and let me know what you think.
